Look of the Day!

Hi loves!

Today I’m coming at you with one of my favorite posts, my full look of the day! Many of you guys told me you prefer “nails of the day” posts that also include my outfits or makeup, so I’m excited to share today’s post! It was a super hot 85 degrees today, so I opted for comfort and casual. I’m wearing strictly the basics: jeans and a white tee. I also created a grey manicure with some simple nail art to complete the look.

This grey shade is “Eiffel of Love” by Sophi polish. I also used my favorite nail art paints from Kiss in black and white. The lighting in the photo doesn’t give a great pay off, but there are also tiny pink dots around the triangles on each nail.

I loveeee how the triangle nail art gives the illusion that the nails are longer than they are. You could even make the triangles bigger, to create that effect even more! My shades are from Charlotte Russe and I’m obsessed!

This is a nail selfie before I added the pink dots for a pop of color. I still really love this look on its own!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I hope you picked up a little bit of inspiration from this post. I hope your day is awesome; love and light! :)

Must Have Nail Supplies On Amazon!

Hi loves!

I get asked pretty frequently about my go to nail supplies that I use for myself and my clients. I personally order most of my supplies online from a nail supply store and Amazon! So, today I wanted to share some of my favorite supplies that you can all get from Amazon (one of my favorite places to shop online). On top of the great prices you can find on there, I also use Ebates every time I order something online. It’s a simple extension you add to your browser and you get paid cash back percentages every time you shop! Amazon is typically always on Ebates which means you can always get cash back when you order! Here is my referral link if you want to check it out: https://www.ebates.com/r/POLISH583. Now on to the products!

Dotting tools

I picked up these dotting tools years ago at the beginning of my nail career. I still use them all today and they have held up perfectly! They are super affordable and each end is a different size, which is great for different nail art designs. I would highly suggest them!

Rhinestones

If you’re looking for a basic pack of rhinestones, then these are for you. They aren’t as grand as Swarovski crystals, but they are bright and shiny nonetheless! Each of these rhinestones are the same size and color. I love them for adding some bling to any manicure!

Buffing Blocks

If you’re looking for disposable buffers for yourself or clients, these are a good option. I like to cut mine in half, which makes your money go even further. They are one time use buffing blocks and they work perfectly!

Striping Tape

Striping tape isn’t something I use very often in my salon, but they are a great option for nail art. You can use these multi-colored tapes as stencils for different designs, or you can leave them on the nail for a fun look!

Cuticle Sticks

I am a huge fan of using wooden cuticle pushers instead of metal implements. These are perfect for one time use because they are shorter than the average cuticle stick. They have a pointed and flat end on each. I still use these every day in my salon!

Thank you all so much for reading! I hope this post was helpful for you. I hope your day is awesome; love and light! :)

My clients are huge fans of gel polish manicures, so that is what all of these manicures are. All of the manicures are also done on natural nails which is my favorite! I’ve been having a blast over the last two months with my new nail business and I look forward to sharing more with you guys. I hope your day is awesome; love and light! :)

Tips For Your New Business

Hi guys!

After completing my first official month as a new salon owner, I have already learned so many lessons. I feel that I have so many tips to share with you guys that could make this new adventure easier for you! If you are someone who is started a new business, no matter the type, I think you will benefit from focusing on these tactics from day 1. I hope you guys enjoy, now let’s get started!

Location is everything!

I know we have all seen the phrase “location, location, location”. The area where you decide to open your business is so crucial to it’s success. This being said, I personally am feeling the effects of this. The area I’ve chosen for my salon suite gets zero foot traffic, so I am having to work harder to get awareness for my brand. Advertising and marketing are essential! I have personally created yard signs that are displayed near the road in front of my building. I’ve also added a large sign on the building and my logo on the entrance of the building, as well as my door to my suite. This allows new customers to know they are in the right place as soon as they pull up to my building.

Spread the word on social media!

We all know the importance of social media in today’s society. Because of this, I use Facebook and Instagram to my advantage daily. I suggest you should always keep your platforms updated daily with your products, photos of your work, or business related content. Think of it as a digital portfolio if you’re in the beauty industry. Nail techs, hair stylists, and makeup artists will ALWAYS benefit from this. New clients want to know what your work looks like before they try you, so give them plenty of photos to fall in love with! This allows your brand to stay in front of potential customers constantly, and you are more likely to reach new clients! I also created a custom Facebook ad to run locally in my area to let everyone know that my new salon was open for business!

Meet local business owners and advertise!

Everyone knows how effective business cards can be for getting awareness for a new business. Not only should you hand out cards to people that you’ve already serviced, but you should also meet local business owners in your area. I personally went to several boutiques and shops on the same street as my salon to introduce myself and hand out cards. This helps to get your name out there and allows you to make relationships with fellow small business owners! This can be beneficial for you in two was. First, your relationship with local business owners means collaborations and referrals in the future. Second, if you market to businesses where your demographic frequently goes, then they can become aware of your new business. If you’re a nail tech, makeup artist, or hair stylist I suggest leaving cards at gyms, tanning salons, and boutiques in your immediate area!

Thank you all so much for reading! After a month in business, I have found that I must utilize all of these tactics constantly to be successful. I hope this could potentially help you in your next venture! I hope your day is awesome; love and light! :)
