Revamp Your Nail Salon | Tips and Tricks

Hi loves!

Today I wanted to share my tips for bringing new life into your salon! As you may know, I have my own nail suite and I’m always looking for ways to improve my smaller space. These tips are things that I personally do to prepare my space for Spring and Summer, keep it looking fabulous, and make it an inviting space for clients. If you’d like to also see a full tour of my nail suite, you can check out that video here. Now let’s get started!

Keep your salon dusted and vacuumed regularly. I like to vacuum every two days and dust about twice a week. This ensures that my clients always walk into a clean space and never see any debris or dust while they’re spending time in my space. Daily cleaning like this also helps you in the long run. It makes it much easier when it comes time to do your deep and thorough cleanings!

Roll all of your polish bottles periodically. I know many of us are in the habit of shaking our polish to re-mix them, but the best thing to do is roll them. This mixes the polish while preserving the quality of the formula. I like to re-mix my bottles after they have sat for a while and start to settle. I tend to do this once every week or two.

Freshen up the space with new decor or plants. For my nail suite, I went with an all white theme with black accents. This meant I have little color in my space. In order for me to bring some life into the room, I brought in some plants to add a boost of color. I have a larger live tree along one wall, and some fake succulents on another table. I really enjoy the pops of green in the room, and the overall “natural” vibe it gives to the space!

Add some limited time specials to your service menu. This can be anything from a seasonal manicure or pedicure (like cinnamon for the Fall or citrus for the Summer), or a new add on for any service. This ensures you are constantly updating and staying up with the current trends. Your clients will definitely appreciate this!

Thank you all so much for reading! I hope this post gave you some new inspiration for your salon or nail space. These tactics can work in any size space, whether you’re working from home or in a larger salon. I hope your day is awesome; love and light! :)

Painting Your Nails Made Easy!

Hi loves!

Today I wanted to do a post all about painting your nails. I know many people still struggle with getting that perfect manicure at home on their own. I wanted to share some tips and tricks to make this possible for you, without going to a salon! I hope you enjoy! :)

You want to always make sure you don’t have any pesky skin or cuticle laying on your nail plate so your application can be smooth. To achieve this you can use a cuticle removing liquid and scrape away, or simply push back with a cuticle stick.

This can be hard to do at first but this is the best way to ensure you have an even application. You start with one stroke down the center of the nail, one of the left, and one on the right. Make sure you always apply from the cuticle to the free edge of the nail!

To achieve the best color pay off and opacity, you want to always apply at least two coats of polish to your nails. For each layer, make sure you are painting thin coats. If you apply the polish too thick, your nails may be “dent-able” all day and take hours to dry!

I never perform a manicure without my handy dandy clean up brush! I’ve shown it in previous videos like this one here. It is a small concealer brush that I dip into nail polish remover. I simply clean up all of the polish that may have gotten on the skin. This leaves your manicure looking professional and perfectly polished!

Using a top coat at the end of your manicure has MANY benefits! This leaves your nails with a gorgeous shine and locks in the polish to allow longer wear time. It also smooths out any nail art to make it blend better on the nails!

That’s it guys! I hope these tips were helpful to you all. If you have anymore questions please leave them below, I’d love to answer them for you. I hope your day is fabulous!
