Declutter Your Home and Mind

Hey guys!

One of my many favorite things has to be organization! Yes, I’m one of those people who love to organize anything I can get my hands on. Over time I’ve found that I enjoy much more of a minimalist lifestyle when it comes to my work and home life. I wanted to share some of the easy things I do to create a more decluttered home. These things also help me to not have such a busy mind in the grand scheme of things. When my home or work is cluttered, I tend to feel more stressed or not as calm. So today I’m spilling all of my tips in hopes that they can help you too. Let’s get started!

  • clear out texts and calls from your phone
  • erase unneeded photos, videos, and notes from your phone
  • donate clothes and shoes from your closet that you don’t wear
  • purge your home room by room of old decor, and nick-nacks you don’t need
  • clean out your pantry of old and expired foods
  • mark things off of your to-do list daily
  • trash any mascara or foundation that’s been opened past it’s expiration date
  • label everything – it makes life easier
  • unsubscribe to store emails you never shop at
  • delete apps you don’t use
  • delete all junk mail

Here’s a list of even more items you could purge immediately:

  • chargers to old phones
  • shoes that don’t fit
  • old magazines or books
  • trash in your purse
  • socks with holes
  • product packaging
  • decor that doesn’t fit your style
  • dried up nail polish
  • random tupperware lids
  • old or tangled jewelry
  • old phone cases
  • expired coupons
  • fraying makeup brushes

Tips For Your New Business

Hi guys!

After completing my first official month as a new salon owner, I have already learned so many lessons. I feel that I have so many tips to share with you guys that could make this new adventure easier for you! If you are someone who is started a new business, no matter the type, I think you will benefit from focusing on these tactics from day 1. I hope you guys enjoy, now let’s get started!

Location is everything!

I know we have all seen the phrase “location, location, location”. The area where you decide to open your business is so crucial to it’s success. This being said, I personally am feeling the effects of this. The area I’ve chosen for my salon suite gets zero foot traffic, so I am having to work harder to get awareness for my brand. Advertising and marketing are essential! I have personally created yard signs that are displayed near the road in front of my building. I’ve also added a large sign on the building and my logo on the entrance of the building, as well as my door to my suite. This allows new customers to know they are in the right place as soon as they pull up to my building.

Spread the word on social media!

We all know the importance of social media in today’s society. Because of this, I use Facebook and Instagram to my advantage daily. I suggest you should always keep your platforms updated daily with your products, photos of your work, or business related content. Think of it as a digital portfolio if you’re in the beauty industry. Nail techs, hair stylists, and makeup artists will ALWAYS benefit from this. New clients want to know what your work looks like before they try you, so give them plenty of photos to fall in love with! This allows your brand to stay in front of potential customers constantly, and you are more likely to reach new clients! I also created a custom Facebook ad to run locally in my area to let everyone know that my new salon was open for business!

Meet local business owners and advertise!

Everyone knows how effective business cards can be for getting awareness for a new business. Not only should you hand out cards to people that you’ve already serviced, but you should also meet local business owners in your area. I personally went to several boutiques and shops on the same street as my salon to introduce myself and hand out cards. This helps to get your name out there and allows you to make relationships with fellow small business owners! This can be beneficial for you in two was. First, your relationship with local business owners means collaborations and referrals in the future. Second, if you market to businesses where your demographic frequently goes, then they can become aware of your new business. If you’re a nail tech, makeup artist, or hair stylist I suggest leaving cards at gyms, tanning salons, and boutiques in your immediate area!

I’m A Salon Owner?! | Life Update

Hey guys!

As you can tell from the title of today’s post, I have exciting news to share. I have recently taken on the challenge of business owner of my own salon! As you guys know, I am a licensed nail technician and I have dreamed of having my own space for years. I have finally made that dream a reality this week. I have been moving into my new nail suite and decorating all week to make it perfect. My nail salon is a cozy, single room suite where I provide natural nail services. I have always been a fan of perfecting the natural nails’ beauty, so I offer luxury manicure and pedicure services to do just that! You guys will definitely get to follow along with me through this journey as a new business owner!

I will finally have the opportunity to share my actual services with you all as I do them on clients. I plan on sharing my services, tutorials, and a suite tour of course! I want to thank you all so much for the kind words and support over my blogging journey. I am so excited to let you guys in on the behind-the-scenes adventures I get into. Taking Time For Yourself

Hi loves!

Today I’m sharing a topic that is very dear to my heart. I am so passionate about mental health, positivity, and taking care of my mind. With the constant chaos we experience in our everyday lives, we often forget to take time for ourselves. I recently was introduced to the idea of “Self Love Sunday”. I was so intrigued by that name and it immediately resonated with me. The basic premise is taking time out for yourself. It’s a designated day where you can press the pause button on life and make sure you’re paying attention to you. This is something that is so incredibly important because we tend to lose ourselves when we are so concerned with others in our lives. Children, spouses, day jobs, and family take up so much of our time that many people don’t realize they aren’t giving themselves any of that time. I’m sure many of you know all too well that anxiety, stress, and even depression can be a result of that. So this leads me back to self love Sunday. No, you don’t have to do this on Sunday, or only one day a week. You can take time out for self love as often as you’d like!

So what are some of the things you can do to pamper yourself and promote your own mental health and well being? The possibilities are endless! Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Pampering your body
    • Soak in a bubble bath
    • Try out a new face mask
    • Give yourself a mani and pedi
    • Get a facial or relaxing massage
    • Do yoga
  • Your mind
    • Have a fun conversation with a stranger
    • Study a new language
    • Meditate
    • Start a new exciting book
  • Your mood
    • Indulge in your favorite snack
    • Go to a movie in the middle of the week
    • Order in your favorite meal
    • Go shopping for yourself

I like to do several of these ideas ever week. You will be amazed how much your mood can change with such simple concepts. What are some of your favorite things to do to pamper yourself? Tips For A Positive Mindset

Hi loves!

We have all heard by now the importance of having a positive mindset. Allowing negativity to remain in your head or heart for any amount of time is very unhealthy. Since keeping good thoughts is of major importance, why is it so difficult sometimes? We often lose focus on the good things in our lives when some not so great arises, but I have a few tools that will help combat this. These tactics are some I personally use to keep sight on the good and I’ve noticed a huge change in my life doing this. No matter what you believe, it’s proven that staying grateful and keeping a positive outlook will better your life.

List all the things you’re grateful for

This process is one of the most effective methods of changing your attitude. This can be done in your mind, or written down on paper for you to see. Physically seeing the positive things in your life makes a huge difference, so I suggest that. I personally do this first thing in the morning and as I lay down at night. It can be anything from your job, your good health, the relationships you have in your life, or even that yummy dinner you were able to enjoy. Simply becoming aware that you have so much to be grateful for will change your mindset.

Smile and laugh when no one is watching

This may seem odd and it will definitely feel a bit strange at first. I really like this method because when I become aware that I’m in a terrible mood or feeling badly, I want to change that immediately. To do this, you can smile as big as you can and even let out a little laugh or two. You will be amazed how your feelings will start to shift very quickly. The act of smiling or laughing is proven to lift your spirit and it only takes two seconds! :)

Celebrate even the smallest victories

I really love this method for when I feel that I’m having a not-so-great week. Learning to celebrate your small accomplishments with teach your mind to remain positive even when you’re not consciously aware of your feelings. Doing this can be as easy as having that piece of cake at the end of a long day, enjoying a cup of coffee in silence on your porch, or running a bubble bath for yourself after chasing the kids around all day. Remembering to take time to celebrate yourself will help to improve your mental health. If you keep this up, it can make you a more positive person in every aspect of your life!

Turn on your favorite music and dance it out

This is something I don’t do often enough! This method is great for those moments when you are feeling frustrated at something in your life. It could be a friend, a situation at work, or car trouble that’s getting to you. In these moments, imagine how great you would feel if you turn on some of your favorite toons, and dance like no one is watching! You may find yourself smiling, laughing, and twirling out all those negative feelings and they will be replaced with much happier vibes!

White Water Rafting Trip!

Hi loves!

Today I wanted to share my latest white water rafting trip with you all. My family and I headed to the mountains for a rafting trip for my birthday this year. This was the second time for me, and it was just as fun as the first time. We had an absolute blast! If you ever get the chance to go, I would highly suggest it! Its a great opportunity to immerse yourself completely in nature and have a crazy adventure at the same time. Here are some pictures from our trip:

We had an awesome guide who was very knowledgeable and had us laughing the whole trip! It was so impressive to see how we could all work together to maneuver this raft over so many crazy rapids! We definitely got hit with some big rapids and no one fell out of the raft! Haha, I couldn’t help but smile the whole time!

The scenery was so breathtaking along the entire trip from the water, the mountains, rock walls, and boulders. The weather was absolutely perfect which was the cherry on top! September is actually one of the best times of the year to go, because it’s not super busy like the Summer, and its still very warm.
