Today I wanted to share some of my top tips for performing your own luxury pedicure at home! This topic has been very popular on my YouTube channel, so I wanted to elaborate more for you guys. Below I’m sharing each step of the process, as well as the products and tips I like to use. I hope you enjoy; let’s get started!
I like to begin with a 10 minute foot soaking in a foot spa for the relaxing aspect and to help soften up the rough skin and toenails. If you don’t have a foot spa at home, you can simply use your bathtub for this step! You can then proceed with the filing, shaping, and buffing of the toenails to get them looking fabulous!
This next step is one of the most important when it comes to a pedicure. You can exfoliate in a few different ways. If you have an exfoliating body wash or cream this will work perfectly. You can also exfoliate by buffing your heels with a buffing block or lightly abrasive nail file to remove the dead skin. This is always easiest after you’ve let your feet soak for at least 10 minutes.
This is probably my favorite step in the pedicure process. Moisturizing allows you to hydrate the skin and nails and give them that healthy glow. I like to first use a cuticle oil on the nails and cuticle area to ensure they are hydrated. You can also use the cuticle oil to do your entire foot and leg massage if you’d like. Another option for cuticle oil is any essential oil you may have at home. I love to use argan oil, lemongrass, and others on the skin. Next, I go in with my favorite lotion and finish the massage.
The last step in the pedicure process is polishing! You can finish the toes with a simple clear coat, or opt for a full polish with nail art. Before I had nail art tools, I used many different types of tools I had around the house to create my art. Toothpicks, cotton swabs, and pencil erasers work great as dotting tools! You can also use makeup sponges to create gradient or ombre nails.
Thank you all so much for reading! If you anymore questions, please leave them below. I hope your day is awesome; love and light! :)
