Starting My Vegan Journey!

Hey guys!

Today I wanted to share a little bit of an update through my vegan journey! I’ve spoke about my desire to make a lifestyle change over other posts and I’ve made some changes finally. I hope this post helps to inspire some of you who are thinking about making a change!

I’ve personally been gradually changing my diet over the past few years to more organic ingredients. I knew there were an abundance of reasons for being a more conscious consumer and I became more and more aware of the health and environmental impact of buying animal products. As of the beginning of this week, I have began my vegan journey! I recently went on a completely plant based grocery trip and I’ll be sharing that in a video soon.

I’ve cut out all meat, dairy, and animal products from my diet and I feel great about my decision. Factors such as my health, animal health, environmental health, and morality all convinced me. I am specifically excited to see a change in my constant acne and eczema flair ups.

I am so excited to continue this journey and I hope I can keep it up with success! I wanted to share a few of the meals I’ve made recently for those who are interested.

-Green smoothie: spinach, flax seed, kale, kiwi, strawberries, raspberries, soy milk

-Wheat pasta, red sauce with mushrooms and onions

-Avovado and tomato on wheat toast, banana and strawberries

-Spinach, roasted tomatoes, potatoes, red peppers, wheat tortilla, guacamole

-Roasted potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, corn, wheat tortilla, hummus

Thank you all so much for reading! I’ll be updating you all on my journey as I go along. I hope your day is amazing; love and light! :)

Hey Amy, I have to admit I tried so many times to be vegan, or at least vegetarian but I always fail. Where I live its really hard to find many options for vegans so I always use to eat the same stuff again and again and that gets boring so I quit. I know that it is not an excuse but, as a person who loves food, not having many options makes me really unhappy. And when I see people that are going on a vegan diet, it might sound weird but I am a bit proud and jealous at the same time because I want to change my diet and I keep failing. Your post looks so tempting to start and try again.

Yay congrats! I was vegan for a while, and eating a more well-rounded plant-based diet changed my life! I’ve since started eating fish as well so i’m technically no longer a vegan, but my time being vegan really taught me to incorporate more veggies and clean foods into my diet! (Btw I just did a post on my favorite green smoothie, i think you might like it! :)) https://tabsbeauty.wordpress.com/2016/04/15/my-favorite-glowing-skin-smoothie/

Best of luck to you, Amy! It’s very difficult, but I think also very worthwhile. I’m not sure how often she updates, but a friend of mine from high school, actually – her name is Jo – has a blog here on WordPress called veganclaws.com – nails with an animal-friendly approach. :)

I stayed as vegan for 2 months from February Upto until beginning of April and I felt like my body is under total detox mode. Love it. I hope you too have he same experience as well. Have a great start of the week

Welcome to the club! I was a vegetarian for almost 4 years and 6 months ago made the switch to being completely vegan. It takes some time to adjust, mainly when it come to social gathers, eating out at restaurants etc. But you will get over feeling like a “pain” by asking a few questions about ingredients when you are out. I feel amazing since making the switch. Only real advice I would give is make sure you are getting the full amount of nutrients you need (especially B12). Good luck :)

I am so glad i came across this! I’ve been debating about going vegan but creating meals just seemed slightly complicated. This post made it look soo simple and helped me lean more towards the idea. Thank you!!

My son has eczema really bad and it breaks my heart. He is already allergic to milk and eggs and that is eliminated from his diet. I recently am restarting my vegan lifestyle, but my husband wants our son to still eat meat. I wonder if he didn’t, if his eczema would improve too.

I think if he was eating totally plant based it would help a lot with eczema. My boyfriend has extremely bad eczema and he has been eating vegan with me for about 6 months now and it has improved his skin so much. It was very relieving because nothing else was working. But I guess it is true if you eat clean and well your skin will show it!
