With the Autumn season in full swing, I’m sharing all of my personal tips and hacks for keeping my nails looking and feeling great! As you know, our skin, hair, and nails tend to dry out in the colder months and it’s hard to keep them looking their best. I’m letting you in on what I do to keep my hands and nails looking their best.
Don’t forget about your feet this Winter!
With cooler temperatures comes fuzzy socks and boots for most of us. Many people, myself included, tend to forget about keeping up with our pedicures (no one is really going to see them right??). While you don’t necessarily have to keep a perfect polished look on your toes year round, it’s still best for your foot health to not neglect moisturizing. Keeping your feet and especially your heels hydrated will prevent against extremely dry skin and cracking. A cool hack I like to use is applying a thin layer of Vaseline all over my feet. I then put on a pair of socks and crawl into bed. When you wake up in the morning you will feel a huge difference in the softness of your skin. It’s a miracle worker!
Oil does wonders for your nail growth!
I have been an avid user of natural oils over this past year and they can be used all over the body! I like to use an organic blend of natural oils as a cuticle oil for my nails. I rub the oil into my fingernails and toenails every time I give myself a manicure or pedicure. I also do this even when I’m just changing the polish. This helps stimulate your nails which makes them grow more quickly. (You can check out my video here to see how to grow your nails fast!) The oil is also keeping your cuticles and skin around the nails hydrated, shiny, and looking fab!
Hand cream is your best friend!
Our skin can get super dry in the colder months so using a good hand cream is a must! I like to apply a good amount of cream on my hands after my shower and at night before bed (if I remember).
Keep a travel size cuticle pen close by!
A product I used to rave about on my YouTube channel is a travel size cuticle pen. I personally carry the Mighty Nail Cuticle Pen from Julep in my purse. It’s the perfect size and shape and has the cutest packaging! When I’m out and about and happen to notice my nails looking super dry, I simply take out the pen, give it a twist to make the oil come out, and apply all over the nails! This formula dries really well into the skin, so you don’t have to worry about making an oily mess.
Our skin and nails require much more time and attention in the colder months than we realize. I hope you guys found this helpful and maybe picked up a new tip to try out. Do you have any tips for keeping your nails looking fabulous this season? Let me know in the comments. I hope your day is fabulous; love and light! :)
